Let’s Box Breath Together   Recently updated !

Feeling a bit overwhelmed with everything going on – in yourself and in the world too?

Its totally understandable – so lets take a moment and breath.

There is a very simple technique that is easy to learn and have at our fingertips when we need it called “BOX BREATHING”.

Box breathing is a deep breathing technique that can help lower blood pressure and also a powerful stress reliever and may help manage anxiety and overwhelming feelings. It can also help you quickly re-set your nervous system.

How to box breathe

If you are inside  Find a comfortable chair with your feet flat on the floor. Keep your hands relaxed in your lap, palms facing up, and focus on your posture. Sit up straight, which will help you take deep breaths.  If you are on the go outside – don’t worry!

Step 1  Slowly inhale : Inhale slowly and deeply through your nose to the count of 4.   Count to 4 slowly in your head.

Feel the air fill your lungs, one section at a time, until your lungs are full and the air moves into your abdomen.

Step 2: Hold your breath  Hold your breath for a  count of 4.

Step 3 : Exhale again  Exhale through your mouth for the same slow count of 4, expelling the air from your lungs and abdomen.

Step 4: Wait and Relax for a count of 4

Repeat as necessary until you begin to feel calmer
